Eduvos in 2025: A Year in Review.

Post by Eduvos, December 12, 2025.

From the Desk of Eduvos CEO,  Siegie Brownlee.

As we approach the end of an exceptional year, I want to take a moment to reflect with gratitude and pride on what we have achieved together in 2025. This has been a year of remarkable progress and collective accomplishment, one in which Eduvos delivered with excellence across academic, operational, and strategic priorities.

Our achievements are underpinned by a strong Eduvos culture, a growth mindset, a focus on our people, and an unwavering commitment to sustainable growth and quality. Through disciplined execution and a relentless focus on our mission, Eduvos closes 2025 in a position of strength, firmly established at the forefront of innovation, impact, and educational leadership.

This year, Eduvos earned British Accreditation Council (BAC) Accreditation, reaffirming our international credibility and quality assurance standards. We were also honoured with the PMR.africa's Diamond Arrow Award for the third consecutive year, a recognition from South Africa’s business, corporate, and government sectors that speaks to the calibre of our graduates and our role in shaping industry-ready professionals.

Our expansion continues to take inspiring new forms. The official relocation and opening of our Bedfordview and Vaal campuses marked a significant milestone in our journey to make quality higher education more accessible. At our Tygervalley Campus, the launch of our Applied Science qualifications broadened our Western Cape offering to meet the growing demand for science education. At the Midrand Campus, our Law Clinic opened its doors and aims to increase access to justice for disadvantaged communities who cannot afford legal representation and create a bridge between theoretical legal education and practical experience for our students. This coincided beautifully with the launch of our Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree during the year.

Our Information Technology (IT) and Design and Future Learning Conference, themed “Transforming Education through AI”, highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future of higher education, and through the introduction of Nova and Evo, our AI Bots, we continue to innovate the student learning experience.

Eduvos hosted its annual Research Indaba from 12 to 14 November 2025 at the Bedfordview Campus and virtually across its 12 campuses, bringing together scholars, students, and industry partners from across the continent. The Indaba included over 65 presentations and served as a dynamic platform to move research from theory to tangible action, focusing on how interdisciplinary and community-based approaches can address the continent's most pressing challenges.

Significant strides were made this year in strengthening our digital and learning infrastructure across all campuses. We invested in 1,250 new student PCs, including 900 compact mini-PCs that free up desk space and modernise our learning environments. We also opened a dedicated student gaming venue at our Pretoria campus, equipped with 15 high-performance gaming PCs, with a further 10 units being installed at Midrand. Our graphic design studios received a major upgrade with 185 new high-performance PCs to support the latest creative software and meet growing student demand. Connectivity across campuses was enhanced through the full rollout of Wi-band wireless circuits, providing a third network failover option during major fibre outages. To reinforce reliability even further, we secured a second Internet Service Provider, ensuring complete ISP redundancy across all campuses.

The success of our students remains at the heart of everything we do. We celebrated 4 of our Applied Science students finishing in the top 10 of the Applied Science BioVerse Competition, and achieved our highest Block 1 assessment pass rate in four years (84.78%). Eduvos continued to provide mental health and behavioural support to our students through our partnership with the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG).  Over 761 students received financial assistance, and 5,659 Top Achievers were invited to join the Eduvos Golden Key.

The Eduvos Alumni Association, launched in 2024, continues to grow, now with more than 3,400 active members on myEduvos, the digital home for our alumni. The newly established Alumni Advisory Committee has already begun to amplify alumni engagement and participation in meaningful ways.

We were also honoured to represent Eduvos at the SARUA Vice-Chancellors Workshop, standing alongside fellow leaders from across the SADC region to help shape the future of higher education in Africa.

Eduvos also strengthened its public presence this year, solidifying our voice in shaping South Africa’s higher education landscape through widespread media coverage and participation in influential national events. With over 190 media features, our leaders contributed to televised discussions, radio interviews, and digital conversations, including notable appearances on CNBC Africa and SABC’s Channel Africa that focused on graduate readiness, innovation, and the role of private higher education. We represented Eduvos at the CNBC Africa Education and Skills Summits and at PURCO, engaging with policymakers and industry partners on digital transformation and access. We further advanced the national conversation with the release of our White Paper on South Africa’s higher education capacity crisis. Our presence at Comic Con Africa and our partnership with RGB Gaming at the rAge Expo showcased the creativity and future focus of AI, our academic offerings, and our esports initiatives, while our online events drew record participation. Through these engagements, we amplified thought leadership, strengthened industry relationships, and expanded our influence across the education sector.

As we look ahead to 2026, Eduvos stands energised and ready, propelled by the momentum we have built, united in our purpose, and determined to continue redefining what is possible for our students, our staff, and the communities we serve.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. Your dedication, resilience, and belief in our mission have made this success possible. I wish you and your loved ones a joyful festive season and a new year filled with inspiration, purpose, and possibility.

Warm regards,

Siegie Brownlee
