Our online part-time, flexible qualifications fit in with your schedule, not the other way around. Part-time studies combine live, synchronous lectures after-hours, conveniently offered virtually via an online platform*, and access to the Eduvos Learning Management System. Our part-time qualifications are typically offered over 18 months for Higher Certificates, or 5 years for Degree qualifications, but may vary depending on the number of modules completed per academic block.

Students can participate in live, synchronous lectures after-hours (between 18:00 and 21:00 SAST). Studies can be done online, or it is possible to attend classes on campus for certain programmes, such as Higher Certificates in Information Systems.

Enrol Online

Our simple online enrolment process is designed to set you up for success. Enrol online and pay your R300 enrolment fee to start your Eduvos learning journey.

Acceptance

Eduvos will review your enrolment to confirm you meet entry requirements. We will then send you a quote with all the payment details.

1st Fee Instalment

To finalise your enrolment with Eduvos, please pay your 1st fee instalment or make an upfront payment using our online payment method.

Proof of payment (POP) can be sent to payments@eduvos.com. Please use your student number or ID number as your payment reference.

Orientation & Systems Access

Once you are fully enrolled with Eduvos, you will receive your orientation documentation which includes access to your Microsoft Office 365 account and MyLMS.

Can I study any qualification part-time and how long does it take?

Part-time qualifications are typically offered over 2 years for higher certificates, or 5 years for degrees, but may vary depending on the number of modules you complete per academic block.

Can I fast-track my Part-Time studies?

LBL: Part-Time students typically do one to two modules per academic block (there are 4 blocks a year) as indicated on their Academic Planner. Requests to deviate from the Academic Planner, and potentially add more modules, can be made from Level 2. This is not guaranteed, it depends on module availability as well as the student’s academic performance to date.

How will I interact with the lecturers and other students during the course?

Our Short Courses are conducted 100% online. You will have access to live group webinars during your online studies, where you can interact with your Learning Coach and fellow students. You will also have access to individual webinars with your Learning Coach, where you can discuss any academic, technical, or time management questions you may have.

How will I study part-time?

Students typically study after hours with minimal need for physical contact on campus. Online learning is the preferred methodology​. We also offer blended learning which combines in-person sessions with online learning. Students are welcome to go to their preferred campus, during operating hours, to use campus resources.

How Does Part-time Study at Eduvos Work?

Students can participate in live, synchronous lectures after-hours (between 18:00 and 21:00 SAST). You can study online or attend classes on campus for certain programmes* Classes may vary, depending on your qualification of choice and modules.  We have designed our learning platform and model to fit into your schedule, not the other way around.

*Please note that only Self-paced MLM qualifications (Higher Certificates in Information Systems or HCIS) have part-time after-hours classes on campus. Students may only access the campus during operating hours.

What is MyLMS (Learning Management System)?

MyLMS is an Eduvos customised and integrated Learner Management System that allows students to engage online with their learning material at a time of their convenience, offering more opportunities for learning outside the classroom. This enables students to confidently prepare for and engage in the live lecture sessions. Students can also access these live online lectures from 1 of our 12 campuses using campus resources and facilities.

Are Eduvos’s part-time qualifications accredited?

A range of our part-time qualifications are accredited by the Council of Higher Education (CHE), registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF) and registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

What support is there while I study part-time?

We have a range of support programmes to help ensure your academic success. Our students have access to qualified facilitators with practical working experience. You’ll also be assigned a dedicated Student Advisor, as your main point of contact, to support you throughout your studies.

How do the assessments work?

Formative assessments are generally available for a day/couple of days depending on the nature of the assessment. This allows Part Time students to attempt their assessments after hours, taking into consideration that Part Time students are likely working full time.

Summative assessments (exams) take place during the day, and students are required to take leave for those assessments if necessary.

Do Part Time- and Full-Time students get access to the same resources/support?

Yes, we offer the same service to all our students, irrelevant of the students’ mode of study (full time or part time). From academic support (tutoring), additional exam prep workshops, referencing workshops, counselling for those requiring emotional support, etc. all these and other support services are shared in orientation and induction.

When can I start studying part-time?

Eduvos offers 4 intakes per year (Qualification dependent). If you’re looking to study a Higher Certificate in Information Systems, you can study it self-paced through our Mastery Learning Methodology (MLM). Starting on the first and third Monday of any month.

What do I need to study part-time?

  • Internet Bandwidth (10Mb line)
  • Own laptop/desktop
  • Admin rights
  • Windows 10 or 11
  • Chrome or Edge as the recommended browser
  • Purchase of prescribed textbooks
  • 15 – 18 Hours a week per module for self-study
  • Access to MyLMS daily
  • Webcam and microphone

What is meant by level of study?

This refers to all the modules linked to the specific year of study. For example, Level 1 modules or First-year modules. First-year or Level 1 modules may run over more than one calendar year.
